This 15-week Ontario College Certificate program offers the highest level of professional five-star service training for bartenders entering the food and beverage service sector in the hospitality industry. There is a continual need for qualified bartenders in licensed establishments in the Ottawa region. The bartending industry is a demanding one which could involve long hours and shift work.

The program consists of instruction in the principles and practices of sound bar management. The curriculum is divided between theory and hands-on experience in the Algonquin Campus bar laboratory and an established bar, restaurant, or nightclub within the Ottawa community. The program offers an opportunity to complete the external Smart Serve Training program accreditation that is mandatory for the service of alcohol in licensed establishments in Ontario.
