FOOT CARE FOR COMMUNITY SUPPORT WORKERS

Identifying potential problems involving the feet of your clients is critical to ensuring they receive appropriate care. Knowing when to make a referral and communication with your client are also very important, particularly in the case of high risk clients. A review of anatomy and physiology as it pertains to foot care and conditions that can affect the feet are the primary focus. Basic foot care, compression therapy and diabetic foot care are explained. Experience hands-on use of foot care tools and learn about sterilization procedures of the equipment.

Notes: Students practise on each other and are therefore requested not to cut their toenails for at least four weeks prior to the course.  Please remove nail polish. Instructor: E. Kelly
