Acquire the skills necessary to maneuver a motorcycle safely, avoid collisions and drive defensively. Balancing and braking, emergency braking, emergency techniques, correct gear changing, signals and shoulder checks, cornering, road riding, cold starting, pattern riding, clutch operation and control synchronization are discussed and/or practised during the training. The M2 licence testing is conducted on the last day of training. Upon successful completion, you are granted your M2 licence and may benefit from reduced insurance rates for having completed this safe riding course.

Notes: Student must provide to the instructor at the first class a valid Ministry of Transportation M1 licence. If successful the student cannot apply their successful  re-designation (upgrade) until 60 days from receiving their M1. Mandatory riding gear is required including leather footwear over the ankle, jeans, full finger gloves to cover wrist, heavy jacket (leather, jean or textile motorcycle jacket) and DOT helmet. Although this gear is only required for the practical training, you can bring it to the Friday evening class if you aren't sure if it is suitable.

Directions to the practical training site in Pembroke are provided at the Friday evening class and motorcycles are provided for the training.

Important Note:  The training company of is the trainer hired by the College to deliver the curriculum and the practical training takes place at KI Canada in Pembroke. The Friday evening class is held at the Pembroke Campus.
